An amazing photo by Brian Lesteberg called Hoof Track With Blood, 2003, struck home for me. This photograph brought me many memories about past experiences and about different wanting to achieve and striving for the better, but in the end failing and giving up. I was touched personally by it. It got me to research Brian Lesteberg a little more.
Brian received his BFA in the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Minneapolis. He has won several awards and grants such as his recent in 2007 where he was a finalist for The Santa Fe Prize for photography. He also won two other awards in 2006. The MCAD/ Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Artists as well as the Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant. His work is to be known as a connection to childhood and youth experiences. He is able to relate in such form to the many people who are dealing with a similar situation or feeling in expression through art. Brian has worked with clients from the Fortune Magazine and The New York Times Magazine.
His website can be found at http://www.brianlesteberg.com/ where he posts upcoming events and upcoming works that he may include in the future.
