Unwritten

I ted that I watched was on activism in Africa and the impact that the people of Africa could make by telling their stories and standing up for themselves. One thing that the lady who is given the talk says that really caught my eye was that we need to focus on things that can be done and not the bad image that the media displays This does not directly relate to my paper but it brings up the human condition and what that is and how humans decide their own destiny. I believe that activism is very important that is why I choose to look at this. The question that I ask in my paper is do human decide their own destiny or is it written for us by some divine power. What this piece discusses is social class and how we are so preoccupied by social class that we do not give other people chances because we believe that they are somehow not worth the privilege of choosing their own destiny because of their social class in money that they have. I believe that we choose our own destiny. As evidence the speaker grow up and poor town. Than later went to Harvard. If she would had let someone else decide what she was going to do with her life she would have never went to Harvard. She would have not had the opportunities that she had if she did not choose to live outside the boundaries that other people set for her.
